Josh Howard, MAPP

Chief of Staff at Baton Rouge Youth Coalition

Josh Howard is a seasoned communications professional with over a decade of experience in community engagement, nonprofit leadership, and branding. As Chief of Staff for the Baton Rouge Youth Coalition (BRYC), a postsecondary-access nonprofit serving under-resourced students from 8th grade to careers, Josh drives BRYC’s day-to-day operations across its campuses and talent and culture development. Josh was BRYC’s first alumni director in 2017, growing the alumni from 280 to 800. Largely to Josh’s leadership, BRYC has earned recognition for its organizational culture, winning Best Place to Work in Baton Rouge in 2022, and in both 2024 and 2025, being named to the NonProfit Times’s Best NonProfits to Work For list.

Josh’s recent honors include receiving the Mosaic Champion honor from the American Advertising Federation, an award that highlights excellence in promoting diversity. Under Josh’s leadership, BRYC won the Mosaic Champion award in 2024. He was recently honored with the LSU Black Alumni Distinguished Young Alumni award and named the Public Relations Association of Louisiana’s Practitioner of the Year. He’s also been named a top 40 under 40 professional locally and nationally.

He’s involved in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni, and the
international Chief of Staff Association.

Josh holds a bachelor’s in mass communication from LSU and a master’s in applied positive
psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
