Jane E. Dutton, PhD

Professor Emerita of Business Administration and Psychology at the University of Michigan

Jane is the Robert E. Kahn Distinguished University Professor Emerita at the University of Michigan.  She received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior at Northwestern University. Jane is passionate about how to design organizations where humans flourish. This passion has translated into research on compassion in organizations, the power of high quality connections, positive identities that strengthen people and how individuals craft their jobs to enable thriving. These topics have been addressed in more than 100 research articles and chapters and 13 books. She has won numerous awards for her scholarship but is most proud of being a co-founder of the Center for Positive Organizations at the University of Michigan.
